These Beautiful 3D Topographies Rendered by Lee Griggs Look Like Weather Patterns and Ocean Floors
Madrid-based 3D artist Lee Griggs created some fascinating topographical illustrations using 3D animation and rendering software Maya Xgen and Arnold. Each piece is comprised of countless spheres, cylinders, or cubes that have been extruded and colored to create images reminiscent of ocean floors, bacterial growth, or even weather patterns.
Man Meets Woman is a series of simple pictograms by Beijing-born, Berlin-based designer Yang Liu that address gender stereotypes in a lighthearted, yet eye-opening way. By placing stick figure drawings of men and women side-by-side with no text other than a short title, Liu manages to say a lot about the way we categorize behaviors as “male” or “female” and what actions mean, dependent on gender. Ultimately, the series offers a playful take on double standards, stereotypes, and sexism.
